Avoid the intimidation factor as hundreds take the plunge for the first time. Includes a 2.5-mile swim along the shore in waist-deep water, 12-mile bike route and 3-mile run. Begins with competitors as young as 6 years old. For those who want to take the plunge for a second time, My Next Triathlon, takes place the same weekend.

Dickens on the Strand Held the first weekend of December

Call for additional information Pre-Christmas celebration featuring the world and times of Charles Dickens. Thousands of celebrants dress in turn-of-the-century outfits to enhance the mood. Jugglers, magicians, tightrope walkers and acrobats, choirs, dance troupes and tradition folk music abounds from six stages throughout The Strand National Historic Landmark District.

This award-winning, million-dollar restoration has created an elegant, intimate 200 seat theatre across from the historic Tremont House. All trolleys stop in front of the theatre; ample covered parking is available at the nearby Moody Parking Garage at 24th and Harborside.
